The Peretz Center is looking for a versatile, dynamic and Jewishly knowledgeable teacher to teach our next bar/bat mitzvah intake in the Fall of 2020.
The Peretz pnei mitzvah is a two-year program meeting once every second week for two hours, culminating in a group ceremony.
Requirements: 1+ years experience working with children aged 10-14; basic knowledge of Hebrew; knowledge of ancient and modern Jewish history, religious and secular literature, holidays, values and culture. Bonus: Basic knowledge of Yiddish
Details: The teacher will be paid for three hours per class—one prep, two teaching. The teacher must be prepared to make a two-year commitment. Minimum salary: $30/hour.
Curriculum includes: Jewish holidays; basic Torah; Jewish values, history, and culture. Check out the pnei mitzvah brochure, which details the curriculum.
Skills needed: The teacher should be creative, motivated to collaborate in creating curriculum and activities, and capable of working with children with different needs, backgrounds, and levels of Jewish education.
